Hamlin Lake

Updated: Jul 7, 2020

Michigan isn‘t only known for the amazing Great Lakes, there are tons of fresh water inland lakes and over 2,500 dams to explore as well. Tucked along the dunes of Ludington is the gorgeous Hamlin Lake spanning just under 5,000 acres.

The lake is a damned lake fed by the Au Sable River that cuts across the northern part of the state. It is excellent for water sports, pontooning, or head up toward the mouth of the river for some quiet fishing. The dunes are incredible and there is tons of beginner to moderate hiking trails. This spot is a must see!
